“Arpad” was declared a natural monument in 1995 and stands out for its imposing size, which dominates the center of Donji Vidovec. Its centuries-old presence makes it not only a symbol, but also a witness to the rich history of this region. Locals are proud to take car of it and they call it “Arpad”.
Legend has it that an oak tree grows for 100 years, lives for 100 years and dies for 100 years. This long-lived species records many veterans – specimens older than 1000 years, which gives “Arpad” additional charm and significance.
